Firefox

I really like Firefox because you can access more than one web site at a time. I clicked on two add-ons but I never got the install box and Firefox will not let me add them again. It was the web browser installed on all the computers in the school district where I used to work. My experience has been that most of the things we are supposed to do do not work exactly as we are instructed. I did find (under tips and tricks) and try the zoom-in feature.

I have been on vacation for two weeks taking a cruise around the British Isles, which included a day trip to Paris, and then three days in London. I am having a difficult time navigating all these accounts I have set up. I had difficulty getting into this blog, but I am here now.
I selected a picture of the Australian outback because I made a trip there last fall and loved it.

Downloadable Resources

This week we are working on downloadable resources. This is definitely not a user-friendly procedure. How to find downloadable titles is not clear. I tried to load a title from OverDrive which I checked for on my computer. I had the files but the book told me to download the software which, of course, I could not do. I then searched in the catalog for a book from NetLibrary. I selected a title which took thirty minutes to download. It can only be read on a computer which does not seem very useful to me. I did feel a great feeling of accomplishment when I heard it coming over my computer.

Today I am working on RSS and having networked bookmarks. I have been interested in having the networked bookmarks but am not too sure I need to receive any more email messages.

Blogging

This is my first effort at blogging.

About Myself

I was born in New York City. My family moved to Miami, Florida when I was twelve. I graduated from Southwest Miami High School and then attended the University of Miami where I earned a BA in Government and a BEd in Social Studies. I have a Masters Degree in Library Science from the University of Pittsburgh. I work part time as Acquisitions Librarian in the Upper St. Clair Library, and I love the work. My hobbies include reading, Sudoku and gardening. I have two sons who are both married and a two year old granddaughter. I was married for 40 years, but my husband passed away two years ago.
I have lived in a variety of places including the New York City area, Miami, Anadarko, Oklahoma, Toledo, Ohio, Des Moines, Iowa, Charlotte, North Carolina, Indianapolis and Pittsburgh where I currently reside. I love to travel. My next trip will be a cruise around the British Isles visiting Guernsey, Cork, Dublin, Liverpool, Belfast, Glasgow, Edinburgh, Loch Ness and Paris with my two sisters. We will then spend three days in London before returning home.
